What are the don’ts after masseter Botox?

Fortunately, there are no specific restrictions after injection to the masseters. After the 24 hour period of no massage, pressure or laying on the injection site, you are free to carry out normal daily activities as well as any other treatments or medical procedures.

Clinical Context

Botulinum toxin needs a little time to bind to nerve endings in the muscle, which is why injectors advise avoiding pressure or massage over the area for the first 24 hours. The masseter is a thick muscle and injections sit well within it, so unwanted spread to nearby muscles is uncommon. After that first day, there's no special aftercare specific to masseter Botox — patients can resume normal activities, exercise, and other treatments as usual.
