Will Botox help me to achieve brow symmetry?
Yes, in the right situation. Brow asymmetry is often caused by uneven pull from the frontalis muscle or the muscles that depress the brow (corrugator and orbicularis oculi). Botox can be placed selectively to relax the overactive side, letting the weaker side's muscle pull more evenly, which raises or levels the lower brow. This works well when the asymmetry is muscle-driven, but it won't correct asymmetry caused by bone structure, ptosis of the eyelid itself, or scar tissue.
Getting this right depends on watching your muscles move and mapping out where each one is pulling, which really can't be done accurately without an in-person exam. A board-certified plastic surgeon or dermatologist experienced in facial anatomy should assess your brows at rest and with animation before injecting anything near the eyes, since overcorrection can drop a brow or create a heavy eyelid. Come in for a consultation and we can map it out together.
Clinical Context
Every face has some natural asymmetry, including in the muscles that raise and lower the eyebrows. Botox works by temporarily weakening a targeted muscle, so it's most effective when one side is genuinely overactive. It won't change asymmetry from bone shape, eyelid drooping, or scarring. Because everyone's muscle balance differs, an experienced injector maps your specific pattern in person before treating near the eyes, to avoid over-weakening a muscle and causing an uneven or heavy look.
