Will getting botox and fillers (masseter botox) help me achieve the v jawline?

Masseter Botox can help slim a square jaw, but whether it gets you to a true V shape depends on what's actually causing the width. If the bulk comes from a hypertrophic masseter muscle (the chewing muscle at the back of the jaw), Botox weakens it over several weeks and reduces that squared-off look. A simple test: clench your teeth and feel along your jawline. If you feel a strong bulge, you're likely a good candidate.

If the width or heaviness is coming from jowl fat or skin laxity lower on the face rather than muscle, Botox won't address that. In that case filler along the jawline and cheekbones to create better contour, or Kybella to reduce submental fat, may be more appropriate. Skeletal width from the jawbone itself won't respond to injectables at all.

An in-person exam is really the only way to sort out which of these is driving your appearance and build the right plan. A board-certified plastic surgeon or experienced injector can evaluate this properly.

Clinical Context

The masseter is a chewing muscle running from the cheekbone to the jaw angle; frequent clenching or grinding can make it larger over time. Botox blocks the nerve signal to the muscle, so it gradually shrinks from reduced use, with visible slimming typically appearing over one to three months. This muscle bulk is a different issue than fat or loose skin lower on the face, which is why Botox helps some jawlines more than others.
