Would Fat Transfer help me Achieve an Hourglass Figure?

In our Bay Area practice we have been performing this procedure with great success. Fat can be liposuctioned from various areas in the body (usually abdomen, flanks and thighs are used most commonly). The fat is treated gently and processed to ensure maximum survival (usually about 75% of the fat survives). Usually the procedure time for these procedures is 3-5 hours.

Clinical Context

Whether fat transfer alone creates a true hourglass depends on your rib cage width, hip bone structure, and skin quality, not just how much fat is available. In some patients, fat is placed more heavily near the hips and less along the back to enhance the waist's appearance. Others get better results combining fat transfer with waist liposuction rather than fat grafting alone. Your surgeon can help determine which approach fits your anatomy.
