Bump After Juvederm in Lips
Sometimes there can be some lumpiness with filler. Normally giving it some time will allow it to resolve on its own. Patients can massage the lump a few times a day to help soften it up. If it is something that persists or is bothersome, you may talk to your injector about hyaluronidase to dissolve the filler. That said, if you notice blanching or white, dusky, or blue skin, severe or increasing pain, coolness of the skin, vision changes, or any stroke-like symptoms, you should be seen the same day, since these can indicate a blocked blood vessel that is treatable with hyaluronidase when caught early. Follow up with your injector just to confirm there is nothing else going on and see what they recommend after evaluating you in person.
Clinical Context
Whether a lip bump is normal or worth addressing hinges on timing and texture: soft, mobile lumps in the first week usually reflect uneven gel placement or swelling, while firm nodules appearing later suggest the filler has clumped or shifted. Lips move constantly, which affects how the gel settles. Gentle massage can smooth early irregularities. Persistent or hard bumps can be softened or dissolved with hyaluronidase, so waiting a short period before intervening is often reasonable.
