Will 0.6 Juvederm be enough for my lips?
0.6 mL is a reasonable starting point for lip augmentation. That volume typically gives noticeable fullness without pushing you into an overfilled look, especially on a first treatment. Lip volume needs depend on your baseline anatomy: how much natural lip you're starting with, the ratio of upper to lower lip, and whether you want mostly hydration and shape correction versus significant projection. Someone with thin, deflated lips may need more product to reach the same visual result as someone who just wants subtle enhancement. Filler also settles and can attract some water over the following days, so the immediate result isn't always the final one.
I'd avoid trying to judge adequacy from a photo alone. An in-person exam lets your injector assess lip proportions, skin quality, and movement, and plan whether 0.6 mL is your full target or a good first step before adding more at a follow-up visit. Going gradually is generally safer than overcorrecting in one session.
Clinical Context
Lip filler safety depends mostly on injection technique and depth, not the amount used. Bruising and swelling are common and usually fade within a week. The most serious complication, blocking a blood vessel, relates to injector skill and product placement. Uneven lips are best corrected gradually over more than one visit rather than all at once, which lowers the chance of noticeable asymmetry. Starting with a smaller amount gives you and your injector room to adjust before committing to a larger, harder-to-reverse result.
