Can a Physician Assistant Administer Juvederm INjections?

I have an appointment to get Juvederm injections for hollows under eyes. It is my understanding that a PA-C, Cosmetic Injector/Laser Specialist, will be doing the procedure. Is that typical or should I be looking for a doctor to do this procedure? Thank you for your assistance.

non-physician injectors

Thanks for the great question - Nurses and physician assistants working under a doctor can perform these injections. There are many very experienced non-physician injectors that do a wonderful job. Be sure to get information about the experience of your injector as well as what type of doctor is supervising them (ideally it should be a board certified plastic surgeon, facial plastic surgeon or dermatologist). In our San Francisco office plastic surgeons perform the injections. I hope this helps.
