Has 1ml of Juvederm permanently damaged my lips?
No, 1ml of Juvederm is very unlikely to cause permanent damage to your lips. Hyaluronic acid fillers like Juvederm are gel-based and reversible, that's actually one of the advantages of HA fillers over other injectables. If you're seeing lumps, bumps, or asymmetry, this is usually the product settling unevenly or some residual swelling, not structural harm to the lip tissue itself.
Hyaluronidase, the enzyme that dissolves HA filler, typically starts working within a couple of days, though full reabsorption can take a week or two. Juvederm tends to be more cross-linked than fillers like Restylane, so occasionally a second round of hyaluronidase is needed to fully dissolve it. Gentle massage in the meantime can help smooth out irregularities.
Without an in-person exam it's hard to say exactly what you're dealing with. If bumps persist beyond a few weeks, have your injector take a look and consider whether additional dissolving is warranted.
Clinical Context
Lips are a small, mobile area packed with muscle, vessels, and glands, so even a small amount of filler or normal swelling can look like a noticeable lump. There's little extra space for product to spread out and blend in the way it might in the cheeks. Because lips move constantly with talking and eating, any uneven distribution tends to be more visible here than in flatter facial areas.
