I have a little white blotch on my lower lip straight after filler. Is this normal?

White color, or blanching, of the skin at injection site could be a sign of vessel occlusion. This needs same-day evaluation: blanching or white/dusky/blue skin, severe or increasing pain, skin coolness, vision changes, or stroke-like symptoms can mean a blood vessel is blocked, and this is treatable with hyaluronidase when caught early. Please follow up with your injector today just to be safe. In addition, massage, warm compress, and aspirin would be best. It is difficult to say for sure without photo.

Clinical Context

Whitening of the skin after filler can signal that a blood vessel is compressed or spasming, which can affect circulation to that area. It doesn't always mean lasting damage, but it should never be ignored. Watch for spreading discoloration, mottling, or pain that feels worse than expected — these are more urgent signs. Because lip blood vessels are small and hard to assess by eye, any blanching should be evaluated by your injector right away rather than monitored at home.
