Is it safe to use peppermint oil infused lip gloss or peppermint oil directly on lips after Juvederm?
That should be fine to use. Typically we recommend simple vaseline or aquaphor which will help to hydrate dry lips after lip injection. The gloss/oil sits on top of the lip tissue and should not affect your final result.
Peppermint oil can cause a mild tingling or cooling sensation, which is normal, but that sensation may feel stronger than usual on lips that are still swollen or tender right after treatment. I'd hold off on it for the first day or two while the injection sites settle, then it's fine to add back in. If your lips start feeling irritated, itchy, or more sensitive than expected, stop using it and switch back to a plain moisturizer until things calm down, and mention it at your follow up if it doesn't resolve.
Clinical Context
Peppermint oil is a common lip gloss ingredient. Once the skin has healed after injection, a topical product like this sits on the surface and shouldn't reach or affect the filler placed underneath. Some people find peppermint oil causes mild tingling or stinging, which can feel more pronounced on lips that are still swollen or tender right after treatment. If your lips feel irritated, itchy, or unusually sensitive, stop using it and switch to a plain moisturizer like Vaseline or Aquaphor until healed.
