Is the use of a dot grid mandatory for a Kybella treatment?

The dot grid included in the package is not required for kybella treatment. It's a tool that helps the injector to evenly place the product in a standardized way that likely was used during the clinical trials. It's certainly not required and its use is provider dependent. It does not affect the final result. Hope that helps!

Clinical Context

Kybella contains deoxycholic acid, which breaks down fat cell membranes at the injection site. Your body then gradually clears the resulting debris over several weeks through normal metabolic processes. Because of this, results appear slowly and often require more than one treatment session. Swelling, firmness, or tenderness under the chin afterward are expected parts of this healing process as the treated fat cells are cleared away.
