Juviderm XC or Juviderm Voluma? or is it the same? Same price also?
Voluma is used in the cheeks for added volume and lift and can last up to 2 years. Juvederm can be used for various other areas of the face (some areas are considered off-label, but still commonly injected into those areas by many). Normally, at least 2 syringes of Voluma are required to make a difference at the cheeks and the cost is significantly more than Juvederm. Juvederm can be injected into lips, nasolabial folds, and marionette lines and usually require 1 syringe per area. Juvederm can last anywhere from 6-12 months. You should definitely see a few providers for consultations as to what is best for your concerns and goals.
Clinical Context
Voluma and Juvederm are both hyaluronic acid fillers, but they're formulated differently. Voluma is a thicker gel designed to add structural volume and lift, which is why it's used mainly in the cheeks and tends to last longer. Juvederm is softer and better suited for filling lines, folds, and lips. Lips and nasolabial folds are approved uses for Juvederm; other injection sites some providers use are considered off-label. How long any filler lasts varies by person, area treated, and metabolism.
