Nasiolabial fold and marionette filler - best approach to look natural?

Fillers can give a natural result when placed by an experienced injector. The final outcome is very technique dependent. Sometimes it can look unnatural to completely obliterate the nasolabial folds, which I typically avoid doing. Generally, Juvederm is a soft product and molds well. I've also had good results with Restylane Refyne/Defyne, which is a more elastic hyaluronic acid gel filler that gives very natural results, especially on animation (smiling, laughing, puckering, etc.).I encourage you to follow up with your injector to discuss your concerns.

Clinical Context

Nasolabial folds and marionette lines are treated with hyaluronic acid gel fillers placed beneath the skin to restore lost volume and soften shadowing. A natural look depends heavily on injection depth, placement, and gradual layering rather than any single product. Overfilling or fully erasing these folds can look artificial, since some folding is normal with facial movement. Results typically last six months to a year before touch-ups are needed, and swelling or bruising afterward is common and temporary.
