Supplements and Vitmains before Brazilian Butt Lift?
If you're healthy and well-nourished, you don't need extra vitamins or supplements before a BBL. What matters more is what to stop. Fish oil, vitamin E, St. John's Wort, and herbal supplements like ginkgo or ginseng can thin the blood and increase bleeding and bruising risk during the liposuction and fat grafting portions of the procedure. Most surgeons ask patients to hold these for one to two weeks before surgery, along with any prescription blood thinners cleared by the prescribing physician.
Arnica is popular for reducing bruising and swelling, but the evidence supporting it is thin. Some patients feel it helps, and it's low risk, so we don't discourage it, but don't count on it as a substitute for careful surgical technique and proper post-op care.
Always give your surgeon a full list of what you're taking. A board-certified plastic surgeon can tell you what's safe to continue and what needs to stop before a BBL.
Clinical Context
Because BBL involves both liposuction and fat grafting, any excess bleeding can affect two areas at once. Blood or fluid pooling where fat is injected may crowd the graft and reduce how well it takes. This is one reason surgeons are strict about pausing blood-thinning supplements beforehand. Always confirm your specific stop-list and timing with your surgical team, since recommendations can vary slightly by practice and by your health history.
