Why do my lip look like this after Juvederm?

Without seeing you in person, the most common culprits are swelling, bruising, or minor asymmetry from the injection itself, which usually settle within the first two weeks. Lips are vascular and prone to uneven swelling depending on which areas were injected and how much product was used. Lumps or firm spots right after treatment are usually just localized swelling that hasn't smoothed out yet, and gentle massage can help. If one side looks fuller than the other, that's often pre-existing asymmetry made more noticeable by added volume. Give it the full two weeks before judging the final result, and go back to your injector if things still look irregular, firm, or discolored after that. However, if you notice severe pain, skin that looks dusky, white, or mottled, or a lump that's rapidly changing, don't wait - that can signal a vascular problem and needs same-day evaluation, since hyaluronidase may need to be given urgently to reverse it.

Clinical Context

Swelling after lip filler usually peaks in the first few days and improves steadily over two weeks, though timing varies by filler type and individual healing. Photos can be misleading since lighting, angle, and lip position all affect appearance. Warning signs that need same-day evaluation include severe pain, unusual dusky or white skin color, or a lump that grows or feels unusually hard - these can signal a vascular problem rather than normal swelling.
