Would allergies to penicillin and Metformin interfere with Juvederm?
Penicillin allergy and metformin does not interact with Juvederm. Juvederm is made of hyaluronic acid, a substance the body already produces naturally, and it has no chemical relationship to antibiotics or diabetes medications, so those allergies don't cross-react with it. Since fillers and neuromodulators are elective procedures, some providers will advise against treatment when feeling unwell, since your immune system is already busy and swelling or bruising can be harder to judge.
The main risks with filler are separate from drug allergies: temporary swelling, bruising, or, rarely, an allergic reaction to the hyaluronic acid itself. It's still worth mentioning any drug allergy at your consultation so your provider can review your full medical history before treatment. If you notice unusual redness, firmness, or swelling that worsens after a few days rather than improving, contact your provider.
